Our mission is to make films that resonate long after the screen fades — where audiences don’t just watch, they feel.
ABOUT SAMUEL
Samuel Higgins is an Australian creator, showrunner, executive producer, and the founder of Curata Studio, a boutique production company dedicated to developing prestige film and television for global audiences.
His work is defined by emotionally driven storytelling, immersive cinematic worlds, and a strong visual sensibility. Drawing on themes of identity, human connection, grief, ambition, and emotional transformation, Samuel creates character-led narratives that balance intimate emotion with striking cinematic scale.
Through Curata Studio, Samuel is developing a slate of original feature films and limited series that combine a distinct creative voice with international storytelling appeal. His projects include Diabolic, a regional gothic psychological crime drama; These Little Conversations, a period drama exploring love and loss during Australia’s AIDS crisis; The War Between Us, an epic historical romance set during the Second World War; and Astronaut, a science-fiction drama examining isolation, memory, and what it means to be human.
Working within a collaborative showrunner model, Samuel partners with experienced producers, directors, writers, and international co-production teams to bring ambitious, emotionally resonant stories to screen. His goal is to create cinematic work that lingers long after the credits—stories that are both visually unforgettable and deeply human.
